Month of May
It’s the month of May and baby birds will soon be hatching so it’s a good idea to know what to do if you find one on the ground by itself. This is a great quick read.
With temperatures rising, here’s a fun puffy picnic blanket and stylish wine tote to think about.
This lighting fixture is stunning. Anyone know the source?
I love the idea of a hanging bird bath. My birds would love it.
So last Saturday morning my friend Cliff and I went to an artist market in Savannah. We both were awed by Andrew Creswell’s gorgeous pottery, particularly with the inventive and aesthetically pleasing salt shakers. We had to purchase. So cool!
My friend Matt is a gifted photographer and as many of us do, he prefers the look of film as opposed to digital. He recently found this very cool site called Darkroom that will make gorgeous black and white photos from your digital photos- printed on silver gelatin paper. According to Matt, “The black and white prints I made are indistinguishable from prints I made in a real wet darkroom.”
A lovely ceramic Ikebana vase for your May flowers. And here’s a glass one...or this one has a lovely Japanese feel.
This scalloped beauty of a serving tray seems tailor made for May gatherings.
A slim yellow wall switch. Just the best.
This house. A dream.
Let your garden grow wild. Yes! I love everything about this.
For those who love palm trees and tropical plants as much as I, you may have interest in these delightful palm trivets.
I love this restaurant concept in London. We need this in America. My friend Madison would be there every day.
I have a fondness for combining textures on pretty much anything…from clothing to furniture to this large terracotta platter. It had me at ‘leather straps.’
Looking a bit ahead to Monday, May 13, the Brooklyn based design studio, In Common With will be opening a shop called Quarters. What’s cool is that the 8000 square foot space is in a TriBeca loft in NYC and is laid out like a well appointed home…except everything is for sale!
Such a sweet children’s book that helps kids make decisions for themselves as they plan out one imaginary day of their life.
A cordless mushroom lamp…aren’t you so pretty.
Army green ballet flats for the gals…and a stylish slim wallet for the boys (rated best overall by Luxe Digital).
So…I suffered a pretty nasty injury last weekend that involved a ladder and some questionable decision making…the consequence being two broken wrists and a surgery scheduled for Tuesday. Although all ten fingers are a-ok, this will sadly restrict my ability to work on Birdy for the time being. I’ll be taking a few weeks off to recuperate. Oh Lordy…until then, enjoy the month of May! And please keep sending links to people, places and things you love. It’ll keep my spirits up!
